At the end of the intensive programme course on Robotic Systems the learner is expected to be able to:
- Understand the context and importance of robotics in the different society sectors.
- Obtain knowledge and understand the basic concepts of industrial robotics, namely in terms of classification, kinematics, sensors and actuators, systematization, and typical applications.
- Operate and program industrial (manipulator) robots.
- Understand the basic concepts of mobile robotics and the context of artificial intelligence in robotics.
- Understand and apply methods for the sensorial perception and interpretation methods for the control of robots.
- Understand and apply methods for the navigation of robots in known or unknown environments, using planning and navigation algorithms.
- Design and implement control applications for autonomous mobile robots.
- Understand and apply image processing techniques in robotics to improve the ability of robots.
- Understand the basic concepts for CIS (Computer Integrated Surgery), SILS (Single Incision laparoscopic surgery) and NOTES (Natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery).
- Understand the basic concepts and techniques of medical robotics applied to surgery and rehabilitation.
- Understand the control techniques used for rehabilitation robots, namely force control and impedance control.
- Understand and apply the System-of-Systems paradigm for a robotic system, i.e., a robot viewed as a system of systems (mechatronics-, control-, communication- and information-system) and a robot viewed as one of the system composing an industrial manufacturing system.
- Understand and apply the basic concepts for industrial patent registration and IPR management.
