International Financial Markets and Culture - The Portuguese Context
At the end of the curricular unit the student should: - Understand the evolution of the Portuguese economy in the context of economic, financial and monetary integration; - Critically discuss the economic Portuguese path within the economic, financial and monetary structural changes perform in the context of the European Union; - Analyse the structure of a given market and understand the process of economic regulation; - Classify, distinguish and characterize diverse financial markets: organization, structure and rules of functioning; - Understand the psychology of decision-making process (investment and financing), in particular in the capital market; - Identify bond features, calculate bonds price and calculate the intrinsic value of a share using several methodologies; - Contribute to the development of good financial management practices of different organizations; - Communicate effectively with non-financial managers; - Understand the fundamentals of consumer behavior, with emphasis on the consumer in the marketplace, consumers as individuals, consumers as decision makers, and consumers as influenced by culture and subcultures; - Further develop group interaction skills and the ability to perform effectively in a group context.
