3042 5033 Portuguese Language and Culture (Course certificate)
IPB is running a well-established 1-year long Portuguese Language and Culture course (PLC) for international students. The course is designed for students enrolled in foreign Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to complement their education in the Portuguese language and also for other students and the general public interested in learning the Portuguese language. Some of the course units are offered together with the Portuguese students, allowing a better integration and a real Portuguese cultural and language environment. At the end of this 1-year long course, students will receive a certificate according to his/her Portuguese language proficiency.
3042 9992 Portuguese Language and Portuguese Speaking Countries (Bachelor diploma)
The bachelor programme on Portuguese Language and Portuguese Speaking Countries is designed for international students, whose native language is not Portuguese, with deep knowledge on the structures of Portuguese, in a way they fluently use this language orally and in its written form. On the other hand, this bachelor programme provides deep competences on the historical, socioeconomic, business and organizational relationships, and cultural diversity across the Portuguese Speaking Countries, including Brasil, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guiné-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe and East Timor. International students can carry out a final internship in Portugal or in one of these Portuguese Speaking Countries. International students can be enrolled in this Bachelor programme without any knowledge in the Portuguese language. Students should have a proficiency level in English.
3042 5028 Translation (Master diploma)
This master programme is designed for the simultaneous attendance of Portuguese and international students, thus encouraging a real international academic environment. The languages used are Portuguese and English. The purpose of this master programme is to qualify graduates for translation in Portuguese, English and other IPB language options. International students are required to have a bachelor diploma and a proficiency level in both English and Portuguese languages. International students can obtain a B2 level in the Portuguese language through the previous attendance of the 1-year long Portuguese Language and Culture course or the 3-years bachelor programme in Portuguese Language and Portuguese Speaking Countries, both also offered by IPB.

Information for international mobility students at IPB:
International mobility students at IPB can attend the Portuguese courses for foreign students, including it in their learning agreements.
Foreign language courses and linguistic preparation courses for Erasmus and International mobility are not available for international mobility students at IPB. They should select the language course units at the IPB's CTESP, bachelor or master study plans.
