(Only for European and other international students who have are, or have been, enrolled in a higher education institution)

European and other international students who are, or have been, enrolled in a non-Portuguese Higher Education Institution, legally recognized at the country of origin, can request the admission via regime of change of institution/course and enroll as full students at IPB.

The application process step by step

1st step - Provide the documentation
  • Application form;
  • Form requesting the accreditation of the prior learning, according the regulations of accreditation of the IPB;
  • Authenticated transcript of your marks and credits for each subject studied. This document should be in English, French or Spanish, or be accompanied by a certified translation in English. Also, the original document should be certified by the Portuguese Embassy;
  • Authenticated plan of studies. This document should be in English, French or Spanish, or be accompanied by a certified translation in English. Also, the original document should be certified by the Portuguese Embassy;
  • Authenticated document stating the programmatic contents and the workload of the subjects studied. This document should be in English, French or Spanish, or be accompanied by a certified translation in English. Also, the original document should be certified by the Portuguese Embassy;
  • Authenticated official document stating that the course you are, or were, enrolled in is recognized as a higher education programme by the legislation of your country. This document should be in English, French or Spanish, or be accompanied by a certified translation in English. Also, the original document should be certified by the Portuguese Embassy;
  • Photocopy of passport;
  • Curriculum Vitae in English, Spanish or French.

2nd step - Payment of emoluments
The emoluments for the admission process are of 525,00€ (five hundred and twenty five euros), to cover the following costs and services:
  • Application fee (25,00€);
  • Verification of the authenticity of the documents near the official authorities and the institutions that issued the former diplomas and certificates (500,00€).
Application emoluments for applicants from a Member State of the European Union: 25,00€

Only after the payment of this fee the transfer process will be considered for analysis. The International Relations Office (IRO) will send you all the details concerning the bank transfer.

3rd step - Verify your mailbox
After the admission process has been concluded, we will send you an email confirming if you were admitted at IPB.

4th Step - Pre-enrolment fee
The selected candidates must pay a pre-enrolment fee of 206,60€ (two hundred and six euros and sixty cents) within the deadlines established in the “Academic Calendar”. The payment should be made by bank transfer as a pre-requisite to issue the acceptance letter for study visa.
The selected candidates who do not pay the pre-enrolment fee in the term established by the IPB are no longer eligible for enrolment.
The fee charged (206,60€) corresponds to the emoluments due for the issuance and for sending the acceptance letter for study visa (75,00€) as well as for registration as a student of the IPB and payment of the first instalment (131,60€).

5th Step - Sending acceptance letter of admission to study visaAfter paying the pre-enrolment fee, the IPB will issue the acceptance letter for study visa. Additional information about how to arrive and about the integration in the IPB will be also sent.
 
6th Step - Health insurance and accommodation
The IPB provides an insurance that only covers accidents that occur on the Institute premises during the days and months that school is open for classes. International students should take out a private health insurance in the respective country of origin. It is recommended that students acquire previous knowledge of all the conditions and coverage foreseen in Portugal.
The IPB can’t provide accommodation for international students in the students’ residences. Nevertheless, the International Office can help you finding housing.

7th Step - Arriving at IPB
When arriving at the IPB, you should go to the International Relations Office. We will guide to the Academic Services to formalize your enrolment. You will need to present your Individual health bulletin with regularized anti-tetanus vaccine. Also, you will be requested to pay the first installment and the enrolment fee.
