International Financial Markets and Culture - The Portuguese Context
In a world becoming increasingly globalized the financial sector becomes paramount. The interdependencies of the international financial markets are becoming more and more evident, and the need for understanding the market mechanisms in an international and globalized environment are of increasing importance. Thus, to understand the Portugal country’s financial situation and cultural characteristics, the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança offers an Intensive Programme in International Financial Markets and Culture - The Portuguese Context (IFM&C). The IFM&C is offered to international exchange students from our partner institution Lillebaelt Academy of Professional Higher Education (Denmark). With regard to the Financial Markets the students must acquire understanding for the structural aspects of financial institutions in the Portugal, such as banks, real estate and/or insurance. At the end of the course the students must to be able to understand the evolution of the Portuguese economy in the context of economic, financial and monetary integration, analyse the structure of a given market, understand the process of economic regulation and the psychology of decision-making process (investment and financing), in particular in the capital market. The program will be hosted by Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB). The courses will be entirely taught in English by lecturers from IPB. At the end, the participants, after the final evaluation will receive proficiency certificate worth 3 ECTS credits. All IFM&C Intensive Programme participants will be considered part of the IPB community and are afforded the same rights and privileges as regular students, so you will quickly feel integrated into the heart of the IPB campus.
