Information Network of INE in Higher Education Libraries - Access Point of IPB
The National Statistics Institute (INE) and the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) signed a cooperation protocol on the 8 of October of 2004, which allowed the installation of a Point of Access to Statistical Information in the Library of the School of Agriculture. This Access Point has a main objective of providing decentralized access to the information produced by that organism.
On June 20, 2005, the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança and the INE made an addition to the original protocol, to include the School of Management, Communication and Tourism, with an additional access point in Mirandela.
The Access Point Library available in the School of Agriculture, is installed in an separated, identified, room, providing a computer to access the statistical information available on the INE website. It has the local support of the technical staff from the library, and the Technicians of INE by phone (808 201 808). The Access Point installed in the Municipal Library of Mirandela has the same characteristics.
The Access Points are intended not only to the academic community but also to the population in general.
