The Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (GDPR), on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, entered into force in May 2016. A provision was made for a two years transitional period, ending on 25 May 2018.

To comply with the obligations arising from the GDPR, the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança approves policies and procedures to comply with such requirements, within the framework of its strategy of personal data protection.

The Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, while Controller, ensures that the Personal Data processing is carried out only to achieve the purposes for which they were collected or further processed, implementing the Data minimization culture, and therefore only collects, processes and maintains the Personal Data strictly necessary for the pursuit of its activity.
